The Real Life ‘Like This’

People love Facebook, and there’s a lot of “Like This” buttons you’ll run into in nearly every website, including this one. Hell, people name their kids after that feature. But life away from the keyboard has little of the fun to offer, of course you could carry stamps, but that ain’t even nearly as good. Which is why Mario Klingenmenn‘s box with a like button looks like a great thing to have. Who are we kidding? This looks good as a fun project, but put one on every street corner, and we’ll be welcoming our new overlords while biting the lip.

Rymble makes Facebook ‘physical,’ keeps you notified

For those too much in love with Facebook to be away from it even for a few moments, Rymble from Spanish company Symplio could be some help, or maybe it would just soup up the facebook experience. The gadget has a dial that rotates according to Facebook activity and a chime that goes off when people like your post, comment, or send a friend request. Additionally, the device could help you keep track of your favorite Facebook pages. Rymble is still a prototype but it may make its way to the market in a few months, with a price tag around $140.

Girl gets arms tattooed with profile pictures of Facebook friends

For obvious reasons, people generally dong consider the 352 people in their Facebook friends list as “real” friends. Probably because they have no freakin’ idea who a lot of these people are. But of course, there are people who take this social networking stuff a lot more seriously. Just like this girl who had profile pictures of 152 of her Facebook friends tattooed on her arm. Obviously, she isn’t going to “unfriend” any of them soon. Thankfully, all this happens to be a very lame attempt by some fake tattoo studio.

Inspired by Facebook, Israeli parents name their daughter ‘Like’

Facebook’s popularity and the love of Lior Adler and his wife Vardit for Facebook, led to their daughter getting named after a Facebook feature. The newborn has been named “Like” after the famous Facebook like feature and button. Incidentally, the other daughter of the couple is named Pie after the food, and another is called Vash (Jewish word for honey). Lior says, “When I posted her picture and name on Facebook I got 40 likes. Considering that I have only a little more than 100 friends on the network that’s a lot.”
