Scotland is headed towards a referendum that will decide if the country will part ways with the UK. The Flag Institute, and independent charity dedicated to the study of flags asked members to design new versions of Union Jack that represent Scotland’s independence.
I look at this and I think, how does this even work? Indoor diving I can understand, but indoor skydiving is a whole different plate. For skydiving you expect to jump thousands of feet, which a moderately high building would probably not be able to accomplish. Then again, you add enough perspective, and things just might fall into place. Warsaw studio Moko Architects has plans to build an indoor diving and skydiving center.
Brazilian designer Tiago Aiello came up with this independent design of a hot looking sleek rally car for Peugeot. From the images we see it looks like the buggy would love to go racing on the scorching desert or on freezing ice. We’re not gonna lie… it does look good in the renderings.
Mercedes unveiled its idea of the future with the F125 Concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show. F125 concept is a futuristic zero emission vehicle powered by hydrogen. The car is propelled by a hydrogen-electric hybrid engine and the fuel tank is the body of the car itself! Driving range for the concept is 650 miles, which beats competition by far. Especially since these won’t be throwing out any exhausts at all.
Coming out of the fertile imagination of designer Pete Norris, the Taranis looks like (forgive the poor joke) a vehicle Chuck Norris would drive. To be true we’ve seen a fair amount with the same design language in concept art, games, animes, basically a lot of places. But it is the sheer aggression of the design that always makes it look desirable and impressive.
This design for the Busan Opera House is a submission by Barcelona based Sanzpont to the ongoing design contest for the opera house in Busan, South Korea. The form they say, is derived from the Korean philosophy of um-yang which, we assume is the cousin of yin-yang as the balance of opposites.
Peugeot is set to unveil its design study, the HX1 Concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The futuristic six-seater sports a bold design, high-tech interiors and a hybrid powertrain. HX1 is based on the idea of “Metamorphosis” and Peugeot has made it go futuristic in a number of fields including layout, aerodynamics, modularity, equipment, materials and environment.
Ford says its new Evos concept previews the global design language the brand will adopt, and that alone would make the concept pretty significant. To put it simply, this means future vehicles from Ford will look a lot like the Evos concept that will make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The astounding growth of tablet computers means we are going to see a few plays with the design, at least as concepts if not in real products. Designed by Liu-Wei, Yao Kai-Chi, Hong Ruei-Hong and Cheng Ya-Fang, the Iris tablet PC is decked with a transparent touchpad with an OLED display. The concept tablet can charge wirelessly, scan documents, translate texts and work as an efficient navigator. Oh and seeing how it works, it might make the AR experience pretty strong.
Designed by Julliana Cho, the fantastic looking Porsche 929 is a four-seat independent design concept. The car maintains the classic style and look of Porsche, but was designed to be comfortable for long distance rides and was thus given enough room for comfort.
