Peugeot is set to unveil its design study, the HX1 Concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The futuristic six-seater sports a bold design, high-tech interiors and a hybrid powertrain. HX1 is based on the idea of “Metamorphosis” and Peugeot has made it go futuristic in a number of fields including layout, aerodynamics, modularity, equipment, materials and environment.
Exteriors of the concept are sleek, sculpted and aerodynamic, giving it a very elegant stance and look for an MPV. As the concept moves to high speeds vanes in each wheel rim spike, fashioned like turbines, these create a flat disk surface. At the same time, a spoiler with two side skirts deploys at the top of tailgates.
Half scissor doors lead passengers to an interior rich with comfort and technology. Two retractable seats can be pulled out from the front seats two create a third, central row. The car is powered by 150 kW (204 hp) 2.2 litre HDi diesel engine coupled with a six speed gearbox. The unit works with a 95bhp electric motor to have a net power output of 299bhp. The concept can cover 18.6 miles on electric drive only, and have a fuel consumption of 3.2 liter/100 km.
