In a Brave New World, Fistbumps Activate Crosswalks in Los Angeles

Crosswalk buttons (when they work) are something like honorary bros – you press the button and it clears the road for you to walk through. It only makes sense that this button be treated like the bro that it is, and rather than a cold push, the interaction with it can be a much warmer fistbump.

Los Angeles based Spanish designer Alfredo Adan took care of that “warmer” touch for the button with the installed “Walkbumps.” The button gets a fist-shaped silicon covering that pedestrians can fist-bump to activate the crosswalk signal.
