Artist Mr. Toledano is of the opinion that artists can be a lot similar to dictators, both living in a closed loop of self delusion. With this thought in mind, the artist embarked on a series imagining himself in place of some of history’s best known dictators, and creatively named the project Kim Jong Phil, after the great leader himself. He used pre-existing dictatorial art for the series, had the works recreated in China, replacing the subject with the artist himself.
