2LMX Luxury Watch

Geneva based watch manufacturer 2LMX has come up with a new luxury watch by the same name. The watch displays time in a 24 hour format through a series of revolving drums. It has six rolling drums, 337 parts and 44 jewels and manually wound power reserve that can last about 120 hours. Each watch is hand finished and hand assembled, taking about 1000 man-hours to complete. There are 5 2012 models for the watch, with variants in platinum, rose gold and titanium.

MB&F Purple Frog Zr timepiece is super limited edition

Watchmakers MB&F have unveiled their latest timepiece, the HM3 Frog Zr. The Zr in the name stands for Zirconium, and element much like Titanium, but only tougher. As MB&F proudly says, Zirconium is a key element in modern jet engines, allowing them to take on the high temperatures and stress. A watch isn’t ever likely to face the same setting as a jet engine, but having the same element does feed a sense of uniqueness, which is what this timepiece is all about. It has a black PVD zirconium skin, 22 carat purple gold for its rotors, and of course, the frog look we’ve come to love in MB&F watches. Only 18 pieces of the timepiece will be made available for retail.

Tourbillon Black Hole watch

Tourbillon Black Hole watch is a concept inspired by space. And as the name implies, it is particularly fond of black holes. Three rings are used to represent the hours and minutes, while the tourbillon escapement represents a nebula about to be consumed by the black hole. It sure doesn’t hurt that the looks of the watch manage to beautifully display the complex idea while keeping the package elegant and the time readable. Designed by Fischer Thierry.

Ventura Sparc MGS is a digital watch powered by mechanical movements

Ventura Sparc MGS is a masterpiece boasting a unique mechanism that combines the worlds of analog and digital mechanisms. The display is digital, but powered by a mechanical “micro-generator system” that turns movement into electricity. This unique system is of course the highlight of the watch, and other features include date, alarm, chrono, countdown and 100 year perpetual calendar functions.

Konect concept watch does a lot more than telling time

In today’s age, you may or may not be wearing a watch, but there’s a far better chance that you’d be carrying a flash drive. Going in a similar vein, this design submission for Tokyo Flash by Olivier Demangel is a wrist watch that includes a complimentary USB drive. The Konect concept is more than a flash drive-watch combo though, it also includes support for mp3s, Bluetooth and Skype. Also, true to Tokyo Flash designs, telling time on the Konect is no piece of cake either.

Tag-Heuer Formula 1 watch concept

Tag Heuer has a long standing relation with F1 racing, keeping the same in mind, designer Peter Vardai created the Formula 1 watch concept, with focus on the McLaren-Mercedes team. And the influences are quite clear and visible with bright red inlets and the prominent Mercedes logo on the strap. Buttons on both sides of the logo release the strap, and the huge cogwheels on the watch’s face add to its racing and automobile feel.

Helios watch puts the sun on your wrist

Helios watch is crafty and interesting. The dial is a representation of the sun, with its rays forming the conventional display. An inner display called the moon shows the minutes and makes a full rotation every hour. At noon, the dial shines brightly to indicate the sun, while at midnight, the sunbeams make way for the moonbeams with darkening segments. Helios watch by F. Jouvenot is a remarkable piece, by all standards possible.

WeWood shows watches made entirely out of wood

We-Wood has come up with a range of watches that are made entirely out of natural wood. The pieces are made using various kinds of hardwood for longevity and style, while the conventional Miyota movements take care of the timekeeping. Making them more alluring for those with “green” in mind, many of these watches are crafted using scrap from flooring.
