Ripple Table Lights Up At Touch

The Ripple Table is a joyful cool thing and brings an interesting side to the otherwise monotonous tables. It has 480 superbright white LEDs and optical sensors that fire up locally when objects are placed near the surface. The LEDs gently light up and slowly diffuse, creating a great effect. This table is a collaborative work between Because We Can and Evil Mad Scientist, and sells for $1,500 to $2,100 depending on length.

Dyson Fan Throws Air Without Blades!

Fans and blades are synonymous, and its difficult to even imagine a bladeless fan. Well, that part has been made simple by Dyson with the unveiling of a bladeless fan. Using technology similar to bagless vacuum cleaners, the fan draws air from its base.

The air is forced up into the loop amplifier and accelerated through the 1.3mm annular aperture, creating a jet of air that hugs the airfoil- shaped ramp. While exiting the loop amplifier, the jet pulls air from behind the fan into the airflow (inducement). At the same time, the surrounding air from the front and sides of the machine are forced into the air stream (entrainment), amplifying it 15 times. The result is a constant uninterrupted flow of cooling air

The fan is available in 10 and 12-inch versions, with prices at $300 and $330 respectively.

The Godfather Vodka

A awesome way to show loyalty and respect towards The Godfather would be to buy a bottle of The Godfather Vodka. There should be no worries about the sales of this vodka as the name Godfather is “reason” enough to sell it.

Autopsy Comes To The Virtual Table

Autopsy isn’t the best of things to watch or do, and to take off some trouble associated with the (learning) practice, Norrköping Visualization Centre and the Center for Medical Image Science and Visualization in Sweden have developed a Virtual Autopsy Table. This multitouch table surface uses high resolution MRIs rendered and processed into 3D images to create a semblence of an autopsy without having any real cutting involved.

DIYer Builds Himself A Railgun

I guess having your own railgun is pretty awesome, but then railguns don’t come along easy. Ravi Gaddipati got around that little problem by building a railgun for himself. The 5.6 kilo Joules gun isn’t exactly more powerful than what the military has, but it’s cool nevertheless. Also, Ravi now intends to build himself a more powerful one.
