Play Nice and Hold Hands With Strangers to Heat This Bus Shelter
Tradition dictates that when at a bus shelter, you should completely ignore the presence of other humans, and preferably move to a secluded corner to fidget with your phone. Duracell challenged this notion in a PR move where commuters at a bus shelter were “rewarded” for not just acknowledging each other, but working together and holding hands.
If commuters stand together holding hands, the Duracell bus shelter heats up, providing them with a much needed break from the cold weather. The bus shelter was put up in Montreal, Canada where temperature stayed well below freezing for most of the winter.
Both sides of the shelter have positive and negative contacts, and commuters are required to complete the circuit so that heating can kick in. The easiest way was of course to hold hands and create a human chain.

To play further by their neat idea, Duracell are also running a Facebook Share campaign. Unlike the numerous campaigns where your Facebook likes and shares mean next to nothing, for this one Duracell actually has promised to donate $1 to Habitat for Humanity Canada for every share, up to a maximum of $25,000. At the time of publishing this article, the video had 21,200 shares.
