Plenty of documentation exists for birds hunting for fish. It’s not even news. But fish jumping out of water to hunt birds? Well, that’s almost a fabled tale and one not so readily believed. Now we have a first confirmed record of a fish hunting for birds. The video above shows an African Tigerfish catching hold of a swallow in flight.

Awww-tastic Images of Little Critters In A Forest of Netherlands

Netherlands based photographer Edwin Kats has captured beautiful awww-inducing images of rodents, mostly squirrels and hedgehogs. The images were captured in the woods within a 10 mile radius of his home in Nunspeet, Holland. Kats spent a long time with these little critters, getting to know them, their habits, and in turn familiarizing them with his presence.

The ornate trophies were 3D printed using white polyamide and gloss paint, which gives them a brilliant white look during the day. At night, lamps in the animal heads shine and glimmer through the animal forms, forming a pattern of shadows along the wall.

Praying Mantis Disguised as a Flower

The praying mantis is a very vicious predator, and their prey would have enough sense to stay away from them. But a pink flower? Now that wouldn’t sound scary to anyone, insects included, who would find themselves pray to the orchid mantis. This is a species of praying mantis from the Malaysian rainforest, where they have mastered the art of disguise to lure in their prey.
