Ornamental Metallic Hand Looks Like a Strange Puppeteer


Ornamental Hands wants you to be your own puppeteer. The series by artist Jennifer Crupi is cast is sterling silver and does more than just be an ornamental decoration for the hand, speaking by way of art. Well, it has probably little to do with jewelry. The piece has been crafted to go along the long held standards of beauty, and works by keeping the hand in elegant positions seen in artworks through several centuries.

Ornamental Hands has an attachment that braces the wrist, and has chains that keep the wearer’s fingers in position, keeping the hand marionette-style. The piece is currently in the permanent collection of the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
