Steel gets recycled into Bumblebee

In the first Transformers movie, Bumblebee first came along as a rusty, old Camaro. This time it’s just old steel that created this life size, 2.2 meters high Bumblebee replica. Folks at Robosteel made use of recycled steel to create this Bumblebee sculpture. Since this has gotten us talking about Transformer movies; No, no, no no no nooo.

Artist uses scrap to create amazing lamps with an old-world feel

Artist Cory Barkman takes inspiration from the bygone era to create his amazing work. His work is reminiscent the time gone past and yet, is fairly contemporary. Amazing as these lamps look, they have been constructed entirely out of scrap. Cory searches for water, air, gas and mechanical parts at the scrap yard, identifying material that could potentially be used. We imagine him sifting through mountains of scrap, looking for the one part that will make the magic happen. Materials are not randomly used for the lamps, each lamp is unique, with its own theme that dictates the selection of parts.

Recycled wallets made from Delhi’s street trash

Delhi, like any other city in the world, has no dearth of garbage. On the other hand, ideas from people like Mike Radparvar, Dave Radparvar and Fabian Pfortmüller do seem to be in short supply. The trio has created a line of one-off wallets. Each of the wallets is unique, and is made out of a recycled newsprint fabric. They also offer other products like T-shirts and messenger bags. To stay on the green side of things, they’ve partnered with the Carbon Fund organization to offset shipping emissions. Each recycled wallet costs $25.

Recycled clothing art is an eco-delight

Guerra de la Paz showcases the combined work of artists Alain Guerra and Neraldo La Paz. A very interesting part of their work is the conversion of old clothing in to art; not simply putting them to use, but actually putting them to great use. We guess the clothes would really prefer becoming rainbows and tie-snakes rather than rotting in some landfill.
