Artist Robert Jiménez painted comic book characters on to classic LP record album covers. In the words of the artist:
I was asked to participate in a group art show, ANALOG ART at Sweat Records in Miami. The show is a collection of painted vinyl LP’s. I had so much fun doing it that I worked on a few more. I hope to have a selection of these available at Florida Supercon.

Chinese artist Wang Yu is a student living in the city of Shijiazhuang. The paintings are made on tree trunks and hollows, often going with the attached theme, and sometimes with beautiful or dreamy landscapes. It takes Yu about two hours to complete a painting.

Artist Julie Thompson Artist Ian Davie paints spectacular images on bird feathers, often blending her his work with the colorful style usually seen in bird feathers. Painting feathers doesn’t quite sound like an easy job. They don’t have a texture as easy to work around as a canvas and they might often have a tinge of color for themselves.
Edit: These feather paintings are the work of artist Ian Davie. This post originally attributed these feather paintings to artist Julie Thompson. We apologize for our embarrassing mistake.

The human back is as good a canvas as any, plus it has the apparent advantage of being available on call, moving itself, sharing a drink, so we are quite at a loss of words wondering why it isn’t the preferred choice of artists. Perhaps they would now like to follow the example of Swedish photographer Johanna Wallin, who created simple, serene landscapes on the backs of humans.

Artist Natalie Irish‘s work is in itself quite a work of love, and lips. She dons lipstick, takes her lips to the canvas and makes these absolutely stunning posters. Actually, the method itself is quite fascinating, and the details that finally emerge are so realistic that you can’t help being impressed.
