Sandals Based on ‘5000 Years of Indian Tradition’

Gurus sandals claim to be re-invented ancient Indian footwear for the modern age. The sandals are sustainably sourced from natural rubber, and are based off Indian footwear that has been traditionally crafted out of wood and is still fairly popular in various parts of India. Creators of the sandals say they designed them to be functional and comfortable without losing touch with the original design.

To stay true to their claim of being environmentally conscious, they’re also promising to plant a tree for every pair sold. Interestingly enough, the sandals rooted in tradition are also named after a very revered Indian tradition of Gurus (Sanskrit for teachers). Apparently, the best way to pay homage to ancient tradition is to put them on your feet. Hint: That’s a big no in Indian tradition.
