Modular cellphones are a neat concept. Rather than buying a new phone once the technology gets outdated, you could simply swap the outdated part for the brand new one. In a simple sense, it is this idea that forms the basis of Google’s Project Ara modular smartphone.
Long ago, before the days of people sitting together and choosing to play on their smartphones rather than communicating, existed an age where there were no gadgets like smartphones and tablets. Thankfully, that age of savagery is now over. We can’t change what went down in the past, but we can change how we see it. Correcting those historical wrongs, Kim Dong-Kyu has created a series where we see classic art awash with modern gadgets.
The continuously expanding portfolio of smartphones has a new skill added, that of brewing beer. Brewing is not an easy job, by any definition of the word. While professionals manage all the intricacies in breweries, home brewers have to spend a lot more time and care to get their beer ready. Brewbot is now making an entry into the arena, and works like a total bro to get your beer ready for you.
Smartphones are big on gaming, and ever since people started playing games on them, they’ve been on the lookout for a controller for tactile feedback and somewhat easy gameplay. iMpulse belongs to the same category, a controller looking to find love with your gaming habit. It is fashioned something like an NES controller, connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth and gives you the familiar tactile controls in your hands.
So… there we have it. Photographs where smartphones have been replaced with sandwiches, a wee bit like the How I Met Your Mother part, except the smartphones are sandwiches.
Smartphones, tablet computers and USB storage devices are currently the two very popular gadget mediums, yet both of them don’t exactly get along very well. It is nearly impossible to interface USB storage devices like cameras, card readers or even flash drives, with devices like the iPhone or iPad.

One thing we love about concepts is that they show us the technology and gadgets we’d really want, even if the market and technology isn’t quite ready for such things. Count us in into the fanclub of the Elastic Smartphone concept, provided it gets itself a better name. The smartphone concept features a flexible keypad with OLED and touch-feedback technology, allowing the user to extend and customize the keyboard into the form and shape desirable by function. It is quite like any other touch screen mobile phone, but with a fully customizable tactile feedback keyboard, and we’ll give designer Sung-Ching points for that.
