It's All Random
It is very nearly raining pinups these days, we’ve seen quite a few of them recently. The latest comes from the Etsy shop of Maria Danalakis, who has created several pin-up illustrations, the most noticeable in the set being those that feature some well known characters. We’ll say the retro styling and theme seems to work beautifully for the set.
Superheroines could trump superheroes any given day, simply by virtue of having the talent to pose for pinup photographs. These illustrations by Thom Chiaramonte of Third Rail Design Lab show famous superheroines in pinup styles, all without giving up their heroic looks. Though Wilma seems to have undergone quite a makeover for the set.

I’ve loved Star Wars since I was a child, and I have always been a fan of WWII recruitment posters and propaganda. I had seen the images created by various artists merging the two, and wondered why no one had ever thought to do photo versions. It was then I realized that I could be that person!
It always helps to start the day looking at a beautiful lady and reading motivational words. This calendar has them both, and it has the added goodness that only the Star Wars flavor can bring. I’d get recruited real quick for a cause like that, especially when pinups are involved. Costs $25.
Ladies, you never know your potential for glamour if you’ve not posed for a pinup shot. It’s the cool thing everyone should do (send pics). Hell, even mythological characters are doing it. At least in the imagination of artist Simon Eckert they are. If she did dress up like that, or look like that, I guess few people would have ever looked into Medusa’s eyes. Except for those cheesy romantic lines, and then she’d turn them to stone. Because seriously, who has time for that crap anyway?
It is common knowledge that most images and photographs you come across in magazines have been photoshopped into beauty. Without any photoshop, such lechery would not have happened in the good old days of natural beauty. Oh yeah? Pinups have had their glory days, and while we still wouldn’t mind putting up skinny, skimpily clad ladies on our calender, the Eizo Pin-up calender is in a totally different league. Eizo X-Ray pinup calender is Eizo’s way of promoting their medical imagery equipment. Design and concept of the calender was brought up by BUTTER advertising agency, Berlin.
