Weird Landscapes of Mars

These beautiful images of the irregular and weird landscapes on Mars have been captured by the HiRISE probe. German Architects Present Ideas on Mars Colonization

German firm ZA Architects has come up with a concept idea for the colonization of Mars. Since the first step to building a colony there is to have habitable areas, or at least shelters, the concept suggests that such shelters or caves be built underground. The idea is to send minimal resources from Earth, except solar powered robotic machines that would then get to work building hexagonal shaped structures on the red planet.

Take a Good Look At Mars With This 4 Billion Pixel Panorama

It might be a while before us humans get to set foot on the red planet, but thanks to modern technology, we can take a good look at it as if we were standing there. Estonian photographer and editor Andrew Bodrov stitched together 407 images captured by Curiosity to create a panorama that gives you the same view you would have standing next to Curiosity on Mars. The panorama is a full 90,000 x 45,000 pixels and the images used have been slightly retouched.

Captured by the HiRISE camera, these craters were most probably formed as the red planet was hit by two meteors, simultaneously. It is more likely that a meteor split …
