Playing with food can result in delicious looking foodscapes

Conventional wisdom tells us not to play with our food. Well, that wisdom can now take a hike because we’ve seen artist Carl Warner’s foodscapes. The process starts with the artist drawing a sketch of the desired landscape/ foodscape, creating the model comes next, and the last step is taking the photographs and retouching them …

This double barreled crossbow fires marshmallows

A double barreled crossbow that can shoot marshmallows to a distance of 30 feet. How’s that for a fight? Each of its barrels have room for 25 mini marshmallows so you can fire rapidly without running out of ammo too quick. And the harmless marshmallows aren’t quite likely to hurt someone in the domestic warfare. …

Giant gingerbread playhouse is edible. Sweet!

I have no idea what I’m going to do with the Gingerbread Playhouse, but considering it is 381 pounds of gourmet gingerbread and 517 pounds of royal icing, I’d just eat it. It has Giant cookies, lollipops, gummies, mints, gumdrops, candy-encrusted roof and a lolipop tree inside the house. Playing with food is going to …

Tiny food feeds all in the miniature dollhouse

Miniature items have an inherent “cute” factor embedded into them and the work of Stéphanie Kilgast certainly does prove the point. She creates miniature food for dollhouses in 1:12 scale. Considering her degree in architecture, you can expect the dollhouses look as delicious as the food. You can get yourself a serving of the tiny …

Marijuana flavored ice cream

A shop in Santa Cruz, California is selling marijuana-flavored ice cream for medicinal purpose, of course. The magnificent Steampunk cake

Created for a Steampunk cake contest, this cake looks like it is covered in brass and wood. Well, it isn’t, all that is just sugar and fondant put to good use. Wheels were placed so that they appeared to support the Steampunk structure, with the metallic cake-octopus on the top. The best part is that the cake is completely edible, I have no idea how those “gems” were made, but the cake from Flickr user Artisan Cake Company somehow nails it all down, complete with ornate detailing.

Fried Beer!

Texas State Fair seems to be in deep fry mode because a lot of culinary delights it has to offer have the words “deep fried” in them. And then there’s beer, fried. We’ve always loved our beer chilled but Mark Zamble apparently appreciates it fried. Weird as it may initially sound, it’s got beer; also, …

Using the iPad as a dish for food, iDish

For a gazillion uses that people could think of for the iPad, no one at Apple probably thought about it being used as a dish. A dish to eat food from. Leave that part to an iPad enthusiast “shiinaneko” who probably loves the device so much, he’d eat from it. Or hates it badly, depends …
