Time Wasting Experiment by Portland based artist Alyson Provax gives a good look at how we waste large amounts of time brooding over things, simply spending time on none too important thoughts. Worrying, it sucks, keep a level head and just do whatever you’re up to doing. Here’s some motivation if you need it.
The gigantic popularity of Game of Thrones is a fair idea to the associated merchandise we see going to sale. It apparently helps a lot that the sigils are quite pretty to look at and easy to adapt in several settings, with a wide choice. Game of Thrones House Sigil Throw Pillows come in the shape of a heraldic shield and are crafted out of velveteen-texture fabric. Available for pre-order and should be available in July.
We know this is all kinds of bullshit, but we’re going to believe it anyway, mostly because we want to believe. As the fairytale goes, Iranian scientist Ali Razeghi, who also happens to be the managing director of Iran’s Centre for Strategic Inventions has developed the “Aryayek Time Traveling Machine.”
An interesting series by Romanian illustrator Andrei Lacatusu, Life is Hard shows even the simplest of things in life aren’t really “easy”. Well, we guess it’s all up to perspective then.
It’s just tuesday and the weekend looks so far ahead into the future, it might as well be months. But have no fear, the weekend will come soon, and these motivational quotes will help us survive the day. Malaysian illustrator Tang Yau Hoong has come up with a series of prints that highlight brilliant words by some very intelligent people, with illustrations that are quite as cheerful and interesting. Prints available here.
Scientists have discovered a new species of Tarantula in Sri Lanka, which they initially named AAAAARRGHHH, although they did later change it to something more science-like. Apparently the new tarantula likes to live on old trees, although the lack of habitat has forced them to move to a dwelling in old buildings. The enormous spiders have a leg span of nearly 20 centimeters, are fast and venomous; the very qualities you don’t want a giant spider to have.
Here we are, walking into April, and the winter just refuses to let go. On the upside, we get to spend some time with goodies like this corcheted Optimus Prime helmet. We strongly in favor of this being an all season thing, but the winter is just a better excuse and a more comfortable time.
Russian photographer Vitaliy Raskalov along with friends Vadim Mahorov and Marat Dupri snuck up to the top of The Great Pyramid in Egypt, and used the occasion to capture the modern surrounding view from this wonder of the ancient world. The images are rare, but the act was pretty risky and the photographers risked jail time if caught. They stayed back after the complex was closed to tourists and waited patiently for a safe time to begin the 146.5 meter (481ft) ascent.
We’re pretty sure the DC Comics Joker would make a sweet cookie jar. It isn’t said anywhere, so we’ll assume they’ll add a sweet flavor of villainy to the cookies. Costs $45.
This sweet minimalist graphic by Joe Stone shows the Star Wars family tree, packing so much detail that is almost surprising for a graphic that looks so simple.
