Life gets an upgrade just like this tie when monotonous situations can be changed into bright and playful times. For starters, it looks just like a regular tie, but you can get it running as and when you please, and it turns into an arcade for Tetris. The system plays the game all by itself, which should explain the lack of controls. But hey, this is a DIY tie and if you get around to making one, you probably might be able to throw in some controllers as well.
It is dangerous to go alone, take along a badass master sword replica. This is a fiberglass replica with excellent detail that very nearly mimics the sword from Legend of Zelda. It was recently sold on eBay for $2051.
These illustrations by RedLittleHouse put modern games into the classic setting of vintage Disney cartoons like the Steamboat Willie. The set is a part of the effort by the Indie gaming company to collect funds for its vintage styled video game Fleish & Cherry in Crazy Hotel. Images you see here insert characters from the game into games like Street Fighter, Pokemon and Legend of Zelda.
Lara Croft, the busty protagonist of the Tomb Raider series is well worth the praise, and Angelina Jolie’s portrayal of the videogame character in Tomb Raider movies, just made it all way more pleasing to the eyes. After enjoying that bliss, we should have known the Internet would want to break it with a rude jolt. And here it is, Lara Croft as a dude… named Nate.
Playing Super Mario Bros, we never really gave a thought to, or imagined the gore that must have occurred when Mario, the stoned on mushrooms plumber mercilessly trounced on the heads of goombas and koopa troopas. Or when he took pleasure in throwing poor Bowser into lakes of lava. But there is more to consider. If the gore was missing, so was the terrifying looks that these scary creatures must have. This dude we see here, looks like a scary Piranha Plant and we can totally support killing it in any way possible.
Kudos to questionable sense and what looks like some glitter or color to make hair shine, this dude sports a Pac-man beard, which would look pretty weird if the Pacman outline had not been drawn to explicitly nudge us into that direction.
Barrels and Donkey Kong go hand in hand, which makes things well suited for a tabletop Donkey Kong arcade game on a wine barrel. Joel Griffin Dodd, builder of the arcade, intended on having a fun setup where you can play and have beer and drinks.
Rarely does the camera catch cats doing what they do best, cat street fights. But we do have it here, the Cat Fighter, or cats doing a parody of street fighter. It could be pointed out that in the parody, they’re not doing things much the way of Street Fighter, but cats do things their way, and they do it right.
German sculptor and illustrator Tobias Wüstefeld has crafted Super Mario levels atop animals skulls. The sculpted levels also feature characters and surroundings from the game, showing tiny Mario, Goombas, Koopas, a mushroom and the fireflower. It’s great to imagine the idea of sculpted Super Mario Bros levels, but seeing they’re carved on animal skulls kind of makes the entire thing a bit uncomfortable. Of course we’ve seen several sculptures or ideas that employ similar ideas, but this one just doesn’t feel right.
