Google Shows off Project Glass, We See Magic [video]

Checkout this demonstration of Google’s augmented reality glasses. It lets you do stuff on the go, apparently working with awesome gestural interfaces where the user has to do little more than move his eyes. The video just shows the concept at the moment and apparently is about giving screen time to a guy who can learn to play a ukulele in a couple of hours. But yeah, Project Glass looks seriously cool.

And the All Time Most Popular Gadget is…

The Boombox! No, seriously. While most of us would have guessed mobile phones, they don’t even begin to compare to the success boomboxes have seen. Data in a graph chalked out by Consumer Electronics Manufacturing Association shows the percent of households with a said device, seven years after it had been commercially available in the market.

The boombox hit more than 60% on that graph, a marked improvement over most other devices and one that is way ahead of the curve when compared to modern day’s groundbreaking gadgets.

In its previous life, this gadget just used to be an iMac. Then it got another life, and it sort of went back in time, appearing with a Victorian dress up. Steampunk eyeMac was built upon an old pump organ, which lends itself very well to the Victorian visage. The iMac was integrated onto the top of this organ flanked by brass vent registers, antiquated frame, and of course, an assortment of gears and cogs. It is selling on Etsy for a tiny cost of $3000.

Rifle Shaped Camera Takes Shooting Too Literally

Harmless Hunter is a fairly simple name for what looks like a rifle. But this thing won’t hurt anybody, it just takes the part about shooting pics a bit too literally. Harmless Hunter “KillShot” has a camera built into the rifle’s scope that shoots a photograph every time you press the trigger. It sounds like fun, but how long would you walk around with a rifle shaped camera? Especially one priced at $150. The camera is currently counting its blessings on Kickstarter.
