Gotham’s Villains in 1920s Mugshots

Batman made his first appearance in May 1939, so we think it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to put Batman villains in mugshots like they were in the 1920s. Canadian artist Jason Mark took inspiration from old mugshots taken in Australia in the 1920s and decided to see how Batman villains would look like in a similar setting. We think they fit right in. The series is titled The Usual Suspects.

Neon Waterfalls in Long Exposure [pics]

Sean Lenz and Kristoffer Abildgaard of From the Lenz have an ongoing project where they take colorful long exposure photographs of waterfalls in Northern California. They dropped a few high powered Cyalume glow sticks in the water, and captured the journey of these sticks through an exposure time of 30 seconds to 7 minutes. For some complicated shots, they tied a few of these sticks together to create different patterns.

Mod Men: Mad Men In The Modern World

Mad Men has just premiered for a brand new season, and though its timeline is set just about 50 years ago, in terms of technology and life style that may very well have been a century. Shutterstock took a look at Mad Men, as they would be defined in the modern setting. The change is reflected quiet subtly, with the tool/device of ’60s that was indispensable to the characters, replaced by its modern counterpart.

Japanese Teens Pose For Quidditch Photographs

Photography memes are apparently all the rage this season. The latest one is Japanese school boys playing imaginary games of Quidditch, and they do it well enough to make Harry Potter jealous. Apparently it started off with Japan’s largest bulletin board 2ch, where an image of players from a high school baseball team enjoying Quidditch went viral. Soon more jumped in, and now there are plenty images to show.
