Vintage Iron Vault Desk

Vintage Iron Vault Desk

The Iron Vault desk is inspired by turn of the last century furniture fixtures. Apparently, such riveted and extra strong looking desks were all the rage in offices and businesses that time. We got to say, that strong, rustic look is quite interesting in itself. The table is crafted out of steel sheet and sits on heavy duty metal wheels to do the moving. Priced at $2600.

Match Candles are the best of candles and matchsticks

Match Candles are the best of candles and matchsticks

Match Candles are one part matchstick, one part candle, and the best of both. You light them by striking the head of the match candle, like you would do a matchstick. The head lights up, and the candle is lit. Pretty simple actually, and we imagine, quite handy in a blackout. While this is still a concept, it would be fair to assume that China based designers Coor Design & Manufacture would like to see their design as a tangible product.

The ‘Total Steampunk’ Franken Edison Light

The ‘Total Steampunk’ Franken Edison Light

Franken Edison Light matches up with the light bulb by Edison, takes inspiration from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, and has that Victorian Steampunk look going about it. The two Edison bulbs on the lamp are placed inside two 8-inch mouth blown globes as a salute to the old Frankenstein movies. The movies placed two separate spheres that would catch lightning and send it through to Frankenstein. While these globes aren’t going to catch lightning, they do make a statement of style towards the form of Van de Graff generators used in the movies.

You absolutely cannot miss this bus stop in Baltimore. If you forget what it is, just look at the giant letters and spell it out. BUS is a permanent public art project. Made out of wood and steel, each alphabet can hold two to four people. The ‘B’ works as a shelter, ‘U’ and ‘S’ allow people to sit or lie down for a bit while they wait for the bus to arrive. It is designed as a leisure space, a creative one at that.

Money to Burn With a Dining Table Rich in Currency

Money to Burn With a Dining Table Rich in Currency

A box full of money burns to give light and warmth to the table. That is a very interesting concept, if you imagine the sheer amount of money that would take to keep the flames fed. Too much? is a dining table that shows modern design, and a flame at the center. The flame in question is fed by a box that sits beneath the flame, full of currency notes.
