Alfa Romeo is a marque best known for its wonderful, iconic designs. It is therefore quite a challenge when a designer goes the way of an independent study with the Alfa Romeo name. Designer Ugur Sahin seems to have pulled that off well with the 12C GTS.
Getting futuristic the Jetsons way, architects Hrama have imagined a city that floats straight to the sky. The tranquil oasis will be far above the polluted and noisy mega cities of today’s world. It really does have The Jetsons written all over it, except for the appearance of the structure, which has been inspired by the shape and looks of the Lotus flower; further depicting the transition from the murky, polluted city to the clear skies and clean air.
There is peace and enlightenment to be found in the way of The Buddha. And apparently it comes way quicker when you can sit in the lap of the enlightened one. Probably just to drive the whole enlightened point home, More Design also let the armchair have a built-in light to let it glow.
Brazilian designer Tiago Aiello came up with this independent design of a hot looking sleek rally car for Peugeot. From the images we see it looks like the buggy would love to go racing on the scorching desert or on freezing ice. We’re not gonna lie… it does look good in the renderings.
A giant, juicy banana would be every monkeys wet dream number two, right after dreams about all the sex they’re going to get. Humans on the other hand, probably won’t mind settling their hinds on a soft banana chair, and then dream about all the sex they wish they had. That’s evolution for you folks. Banana chair is the creation of Polish design studio WamHouse and is named Zjedzony, which is Polish for eaten. The shape of the chair does justice to its name, well until the monkey breaks it in the last picture.

Mercedes Benz unveiled a bold new design in the shape of the Concept Style at the Beijing Motor Show. The sedan is likely to go into production by the end of this year. It would be amazing if it does manage to carry off its bold looks and futuristic style into production, although experience tells us much of that will likely be dropped at the assembly line. The concept is powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that sends 211hp to all four wheels.

It’s been a while since we laid eyes on something, and immediately turned into fans. The Surface Tension Lamp is one of these things, and we’re totally in love with the idea. A bubble forms at the end of the lamp, and while it does soon burst, for the fleeting moment it lasts for, it puts up an amazing light show. Checkout the videos below to see it in action, and praise the good folks at Front Design for their work.
Evacuated Tube Transport is the future of travel, or that is what the designers would have us believe. According to designers, this would be an airless, frictionless tube through which passenger carrying pods would be able to travel real fast. When we say “real fast” we mean a speed of 4000 mph that would theoretically allow passengers to make a trip around the world in a mere six hours.
