Here at Randommization, we love nothing more than doses of serendipity, and these lamps seem so random at the first glance, they’re just right up our alley. Atlanta based artist Roger Thomas created this set of lamps using upcycled vintage appliances and various other items he found. Built quite imaginatively or with a seemingly eccentric flair, these lamps don’t fail in developing interest. Available from the artist’s Etsy shop.
For those of us who live in regions of the world where the rain never stops once it starts, this is the umbrella we have all been looking for. F*ck the rain umbrella from ArtLebedev sticks a giant middle finger out to the rain, just so it knows are views well.
NeuTron by Parker Brothers Concepts is an electric bike molded into a very futuristic shape reminiscent of the Tron universe. It may not be as funky as a real lightcycle, but for a functional electric bike, NeuTron is quite a badass. The street legal motorcycle has a top speed of 100 mph and can go 80 miles on its battery.
A futuristic film needs a futuristic car. Audi rose to the challenge for the upcoming sci-fi film Ender’s Game and cooked up a car that would go with the future world as presented in the screen adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s 1985 novel. The Audi Fleet Shuttle Quattro is a purely virtual car that will exist only as a computer generated effect in the movie. However, even the virtual car has to look futuristic, and since Audi is the one making it, they wanted to preserve their design ideals for the car of the future.

Contrary to our first impression, these glasses are not meant to indulge a drinking habit. Designer Merve Kahraman intends these stylish, mini glasses to be a medium for satisfying the olfactory senses by helping to emphasize the aromas in the drink. The miniature glass set is called the seduction series, and feature rings attached at the bottom of the glasses so they can be “worn” on fingers.
Dog Bark Park Inn in Cottonwood, Idaho is a bed and breakfast-style guesthouse in the shape of a giant beagle. That’s obviously a unique setting that sets this one apart from the multitude of bed and breakfast style establishments. Nothing beats staying in a Beagle, unless it’s staying in a dragon.
Humans have been wearing clothes and fashion accessories derived from animals and plants since forever, but killing animals for fashion is bad and the traditional accessories happen to be “lifeless.” It was the lifelessness of traditional materials that encouraged designer Cecilia Valentine to come up with a series named Fur is Alive. This set treats living animals as fashion accessories, placing living pets into wearable items.
As the movie Elysium is released, the startling and cool concept art from the movie deserves a mention. It’s a movie based in a universe of opposites, the poor and dirty Earth, and the rich heaven of a colony that gives the movie its name. Of course, both of the places would have to be treated way differently, the absolutely packed and dirty Los Angeles of 2154, the vehicles, the technology, and of course, the grandeur of Elysium.
Product designer David Graas added 3D ingenuity to light bulbs, printing the LED lightbulbs with cityscapes rising out of their tops. Miniature tall buildings placed all so close together, give the bulb its name, the “Huddle” bulb shade. It is available for pendant and floor lamp versions, and includes cables and related accessories.
