Tesla is pretty much the king in the world of all-electric cars that offer a killer performance. It’s only natural that the reigning monarch be challenged, and Porsche apparently intends to do that with the Mission E Concept.
Aston Martin has unveiled its brand new Vulcan supercar at the Geneva Motor Show. Now that is not just a regular car, it is a thoroughbred packed with top of the line automobile technology that probably well qualifies to demand your allegiance. Aston is going to build only 24 units of this car, each priced in the range of $2.3 million.
Trion, and by association, the Trion Nemesis are both new names in the supercar game. And as things stand, they might as well be here for the long haul. I say that because I’m smitten with its good looks and excellent form. Top of the line model Nemesis N1-RR comes with a humongous 9.0 liter twin turbo V8 engine that has 2000 horses at its command. This motor will be mated to an 8-speed sequential transmission. Working together, the arrangement promises a zero to 60 mph time of 2.8 seconds, and a top speed of 290 mph.
Grab a cola, sit back, relax, and watch Ken Block pull off amazing stunts in Gymkhana 7. The unbelievably skilled driver of Hoonigan Racing teamed up with Need for Speed and Ford for this video that for a fair part plays out in the streets of LA. That brings us to the second amazing factor of the video. No cars on the roads of Los Angeles? They must have time traveled to a post-apocalyptic world!
It is entirely possible that no one ever imagined reading something like that. A bicycle smoking a Ferrari? That’s probably an indication that the four horsemen of the apocalypse are in town. Thankfully for sanity, we know that the bike is powered by a rocket engine, which explains why the poor Ferrari 430 Scuderia is left bellowing in the dust from the get-go.
The video was captured on November 7, 2014, where François Gissy reached a top speed of 207mph (333 km/h) at the famous Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, France.
The Mazda MX-5 just got itself a facelift, and a little upgrade while it was at it. Mazda recently unveiled the fourth generation MX-5, which will be available in 2015. The car has received some dynamic restyling and upgrade.
The Ferrari F80 Supercar is an independent concept from designer Adriano Raeli. The sweet looking car with an aggressive stance speaks power, and the designer made sure that power did show up in the supercar. Raeli envisions power for the concept car coming from a hybrid drivetrain working with a KERS system and combustion engine.
If there’s one thing the Motoped Survival Bike has got going for it, it’s the clean retro look. Although, to be fair, we would be short selling it if we said that the looks are the only good thing about the bike. It’s a survival bike, built to be used in the inevitable zombie apocalypse, because you can never be too ready for that one.
We love classic cars, and while a gearhead would know every single detail about the classics, most of us would probably not go beyond a faint recognition of the cars. Often, the classics have stories behind them, and may have been way more important to their country of origin, as compared to what we would generally realize.
Classic cars come from an age where cars were a thing of beauty. Designers focused on aesthetics to churn out cars each of which could be a piece of art. That age has gone, and while several of those classic cars may no longer be practical for the road, but their aesthetics still stand. Dave Gartland of Ali Kat is harnessing the beauty of classics from the ‘50s to make gorgeous, one of a kind custom guitars.
