AT-SP Walker Steampunk Desk Lamp

AT-SP Walker, as its name suggests, takes inspiration from the AT-ST, gives it a good old Steampunk twist and has it ready to spread the light. All joints on the lamp are functional, and it can do a little bit of swaying, so we’re guessing it could double up as a very expensive toy too, apart from being a very expensive lamp. The lamp runs on 12V DC through a regular power jack socket. Costs $1250.

Artist Kazuki Guzmán works with common objects to create art that often takes a humorous appearance, but never fails to impress with the dexterity and the range of materials he puts to use. A few of the objects he uses include toothpaste, bananas, gum, nutshells and meat. The artist says he strives for intricacy and craftsmanship, while trying to ensure that humor and whimsical sense of his work don’t go amiss.

Visiting the Surreal Worlds of Vincent Bourilhon

Surrealism takes us to the journey of quite interesting worlds that could be plain or magical; imagination being the only bar to such extravagant thoughts. Photographer Vincent Bourilhon says he is passionate about the magic that surrounds everyone’s thoughts, and the surrealism it brings with it. Giving a tangible existence to his thoughts, Vincent converts them into conceptual images as a showcase to surreal worlds.

3D Printed Prosthetic Musical Instruments

In romantic notions, they always say that music and the instrument has to be a part of your body. Feel it, understand it, and know it. Or at least that is what the import was from that one movie I watched some time ago. Working to make musical instruments much like a part of the body, two Ph.D music students at the Input Devices and Music Interaction Lab of the McGill University in Montreal, Canada have designed prosthetic instruments that can be worn, and they play according to the dance movements of the wearer.
