Stunning Fantasy Worlds Made in Watercolor

Stunning Fantasy Worlds Made in Watercolor

Watercolor paintings by Tristram Lansdowne show fantastic worlds away from reality but awash with creativity. The paintings are a mix of the alien and the known, showing objects that are on the whole unknown, but have several elements the viewer can recognize and consider. Many of the structures in the paintings come from the artist seeing buildings that were forgotten or ignored. When brought to the canvas, these structures get layers of vegetation and assorted elements to take on a new look.

98 Year Old ‘Grandpa’ Creates Stunning Artwork in MS-Paint

Hal Lasko, also known as Grandpa is a 98 year old man who creates terrific artwork. What makes this impressive, apart from someone actually using MS Paint for something useful, is the fact that Lasko suffers from Macular Degeneration, a condition that causes blindness at the center of his vision. The relative simplicity of use for Paint helps Grandpa work as he draws outlines and then zooms in to fill it up the way he likes it. His work is a mix of pointillism and 8-Bit art. Prints available on his website.

Apparently, these chalkboards are placed at the back of the classrooms, so it is likely the teachers don’t really mind students using that area to draw these awesome things. Themes usually revolve around anime and manga characters, though they do occasionally go beyond that.
