Lash Clock by Bina Baitel is an interesting creation. It is a circular disk inlaid with hair (or fiber), which is parted to represent the position of the hour and minute hands. The clock’s idea is to offer a “new experience in the perception of time.”

These vibrant and colorful cups are the work of artist Katie Marks who (rightly) describes her work as functional sculptures. You can purchase the cups from her Etsy shop SilverLiningCeramics, though they are sold out rather quickly. Katie announces upcoming pieces on her Instagram account, so keep an eye out if you’d like to purchase one.

The video shows Turkish artist Garip Ay paint Van Gogh’s Starry Night on water. After he’s done with the painting, Ay remixes it to create a portrait of Van Gogh himself. Seeing water be used as a canvas is pretty interesting. The technique is known as Paper Marbling and is a result of color floated on either plain water or a viscous solution.
This one is called the “Sigils”, apparently because all you see in the teaser are house sigils. It is pretty interesting though, with lines and dialogue from previous seasons to keep the sigils company. Game of Thrones season 7 will premiere on July 16, and consist of only seven episodes.
Here’s a cute and surprisingly adorable video of cameraman Garth De Bruno Austin being approached by a wild rhino, requesting a belly rub. A wild animal approaching a human is quite surprising, and if the animal happens to be a rhino things aren’t quite likely to end on a happy note like this one. As Austin pointed out, he has filmed this rhino for a few years and has developed a level of trust.
Why would you want to run 20,000 Volts through a watermelon? For science, of course. Creator of this video, TheBackyardScientist on YouTube, pumped 20,000 volts into a watermelon with the help of a capacitor. A capacitor can discharge in an instant, unlike batteries that take their sweet time. And this guy’s using a capacitor the size of a dishwasher.
Doctor Who season 10 will premiere on 15 April, and for now there is a brand new trailer. The stars of the trailer? The original Cybermen, who are apparently making a return.
