Say Hello To The Genesis Essentia Concept
Unveiled at the New York Auto Show, the all-electric Genesis Essentia Concept is a lovely head-turner. Good looks and performance of this concept could do wonders for the Genesis brand, and also for the parent company, Hyundai. Genesis sees the concept as the pinnacle of its awkward sounding “Athletic Elegance” design language; the phrase thankfully is overshadowed, or at least vindicated by the looks of the Essentia.
The car features a lightweight carbon-fiber monocoque, a multi-motor electric powertrain, and a custom-tailored interior. The concept takes some inspiration takes some inspiration from conventional GT design and proportions, and imbibes them quite well. Its transparent hood seems to blend effortlessly into the windshield, giving an appearance of smooth, sleek design.
Interiors and Future
Interiors are generous on space, luxury, and technology. Cognac leather seats with chevron quilting, slim center console covered in Oxford Blue leather, and layered carbon fiber decor create quite the look for the interior. Even seat belts get a touch up with glass pearl finished/treated aluminum and polished aluminum.
There are no details on performance and numbers. The Genesis Essentia Concept, at this moment is just that, a concept. However, there are reports that the car might soon see production. And we imagine more details will come forth as changes are made to send this concept to the production line.
