Geneva Motor Show is about to start, which means some of the sexiest cars are getting ready to make an appearance. On the list is the new offering in the form of Koenigsegg One:1. We’d say this is one sweet supercar, however the Swedish marque would like to set aside that label and instead call the One:1 the “world’s first megacar.”
Stats on the car are impressive. A 5.0-liter aluminum V8 engine pumps out 1,341 hp, and a peak torque of 1100 lb-ft. Impressively enough, the car weighs just 1,341 kilos, giving it the magical 1:1 weight-power ratio, and its name.
A dual-clutch 7-speed gearbox works with an electronic differential to help the car use up its humongous power bank and reach the top speed of 248.5 mph (400 kmph). According to Koenigsegg, the run to this mind numbing top speed can be made in a jaw dropping 20 seconds; and then you could hit the brakes and return to a stop in 10 seconds. If those figures turn out to be true, One:1 will be the fastest production car in the world.
A supercar (or megacar as Koenigsegg would have it) that the One:1 is, it will be produced in extremely limited quantities with only six cars going for sale. All those cars have been sold already
On a side note, and interestingly enough, Koenigsegg’s official website is offering several pictures of the car with jalopnik.com’s watermark on. Now that’s a new phenomenon for us, but Koenigsegg has good reason. The pictures were taken by the good folks at Jalopnik.
