What would things look like if natural products were to be marked with ingredient labels? Well, apart from ridiculous, the sheer number of chemicals you’ll read there would put you off. That is exactly the irrational behavior Australian chemistry teacher James Kennedy had in mind when he created this set of images.
The idea was to erode the fear people have of “chemicals” in their food, because as things stand, everything in nature is made up of a complex assembly of chemicals. He made it a point to use E-numbers and IUPAC names instead of common names for the included chemicals, just so they would look intimidating for the layman. They’re available as prints too.
