Jeff Bloch, a Police Officer from Kershaw, South Carolina in the USA has a car that is bound to attract attention. Spirit of LeMons as it is called, was built by the officer and his friends by combining an abandoned Cessna aircraft and a Toyota van. The ride now is 27-foot long, looks like an airplane, runs on the road and can reach a top speed of 90 miles an hour.
As its name suggests, the car was built for 24 Hours of LeMons, an endurance race where second hand, or beat down cars compete for the title. Bloch’s car won the prize in that race, and he now intends to take the vehicle to other events.
The car is street legal and includes necessary parts like headlights, turn signals, brake lights, as well as an insurance. Bloch though is more concerned with the fact that his car might distract other drivers on the road as they look at the plane on the road rather than the road itself.
