Shoelaces show up as tall green grass

The “Field” installation by Dominic Wilcox involves 700 shoes, with their shoelaces rising and floating as if they were grass. It takes a second for the installation to sink in, and to really understand that the “grass” is rooted in shoes and is nothing more than shoelaces itself. It took about 1.3 kilometers of brass wires to give shape to the shoelaces, and keep them standing like grass.
