Vegan taxidermy needs no kill

Taxidermy by definition means stuffing dead animals to “recreate” the poor animal. Artist Aimée Baldwin’s vegan taxidermy is a wee-bit different, and a lot more enticing. The sculptures are created from hand-cut crepe paper feathers, laid atop foam and paper-mâché body. Legs, claws and the beak are sculpted, while the eyes happen to be the usual pre-fabricated glass eyes used in taxidermy.
