Designer Hwang Kim created this concept for an “Urban Cocoon” to help the homeless. The shelter is basically pre-folded single ply cardboard with plastic buttons. The shelter can be flattened for transport, and be used as a “living space” giving the occupant some privacy and to some degree, protection from natural elements. The designer’s idea behind the concept is to provide a practical approach to basic human needs; shelter in this case.
