Kenyan DIY genius makes a plane from scratch, learns from the internets

Gabriel Nderitu from Kenya is an IT worker. The job obviously means he has little to no background in aviation and engineering. The man though, has created an aircraft for himself. A Toyota engine pushes a 74-inch wooden propeller, going up to 4000 rpm and working through a reduction belt drive. And the plane’s ready to fly. Nderitu is planning test runs (flights?) for the 1700 pound plane. Oh, and most of his knowledge about building the plane came from six months worth of research on the internet.
