New York City’s Bus Roots project intends to provide the city with mobile green spaces. The project from designer Marco Castro Cosio, works on growing gardens on top of the buses that travel around the city. Considering thousands of buses ply in major cities, this idea could hold merit. Also, green and flowery buses look pretty awesome. The first of these green roofs has been installed on a BioBus that runs in and around NYC, and more buses are likely to follow. Using public transit for gardens could work well for other space-starved cities as well.
