In honor of the manga selling 100 million copies, the city will issue gift certificates worth 100 million yen for its namesake. Available in 10,000yen and 1000 yen denominations, the certificates will be accepted by 250 stores throughout the city.

The city hopes to use the popularity of the manga to bring in some visitors and tourists, and earn place on the map with the Naruto Uzumaki gift certificates.
