The White Lake Formula 1 is the king of slot racing ring

This DIY slot race track was created by James-Michael Gregory Harlan of Pontiac, Michigan. He has tried to keep it as exciting and challenging as a real F1 race track. Built on a 1:32 scale, the track covers a 20 square feet space with the lap itself at 145 feet. The track has 19 turns and 2.5 feet of elevation chane. Gregory hand-built and painted the surrounding environment to give it more of an authentic feel. The track is CNC routed on the AC2car system, which allows both cars to run on the same slot and pass each other through lane changers.

Homer Simpson is a true Catholic, says the Vatican

Hey folks, here’s a nice piece of trivia for you: Homer Simpson is a true Catholic. That’s what the Vatican says, and if he’s good enough for them, I guess he really is a “true” Catholic. The Vatican’s official newspaper acknowledged that Homer sleeps through sermons and troubles his evangelical neighbors, but “The Simpsons are among the few TV programmes for children in which Christian faith, religion, and questions about God are recurrent themes.” That the family says prayers before dinner got them brownie points.

Remote-controlled soccer boots play soccer for you

What’s soccer without the shoes? Especially when you get to roll around the boots, pretend-playing soccer and scoring goals using your remote controlled boots. This is kind of like Auto Soccer, or playing soccer with cars. Except on a tinier scale and with remote-controlled boots, but you could easily replace the boots with RC cars. That would look way better. Each remote controlled football boot costs £25 ($40).

Attention eccentric rich people, there’s a yo-yo selling for $5000

I believe it can be safely assumed that only the rich and the eccentric would drop $5000 on a yo-yo. Named Nostalgia, and hand-built by yo-yo builder Shinobu Konmoto, the yo-yo costs a neat ¥400,000 ($5000). After you place the order, it takes six months to complete and ship the yo-yo. I’d write something about the amazing craftsmanship of the yo-yo and stuff, but I can’t wrap my head around a $5000 yo-yo.

A lot of people weren’t really happy with the development, but the incandescent lamps were history in the EU. This is how people worked out in the good ol’ days

Your gym may have the best fitness equipment the world has to offer, but what it can’t offer is class. That thing was offered by vintage fitness equipment, as is evidenced by the ladies and gentlemen in these pictures. Working out in a full suit, that obviously is classy and these obviously are noteworthy people.

Yamaha wraps up concept bike in leather

At the Cologne Bike Show, Yamaha unveiled its VMax concept bike. The one-off motorcycle was created in collaboration with fashion house Hermes. The idea was to “Reinforce the sculptural lines of this unique object and underline its emotional power.” Hermes draped the bike in leather, covering every non-mechanical part of the bike in Skipper buffalo leather. Brushed aluminium mirrors, meter case and exhaust gave the finishing touches. With all that leather and craftsmanship gone into its creation, the bike had a cost of $32000. Yamaha and Hermes do not intend to create a prodcution version, and this will remain a one-off bike.
