Telescope Looks at Space, Finds a Giant Eye Staring Back

The giant cosmic eye here is the Helix Nebula is a combined image created by NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope and the Galaxy Evolution Explorer. Located 650 light years from us in the constellation of Aquarius, the nebula represents a dying star known as a planetary nebula. This is what scientists expect the sun to look like, 5 billion years from now, as it goes the planetary nebula way.
