80-Year Old Builds a Railway Line for Himself

We’re pretty sure there are plenty of people in the world who build model railroads or tiny trains for themselves. Yet, only a handful could come close to the time, effort, dedication and perhaps, the scale put in by 80-year-old Bill Barritt.

The retired accountant encouraged by his wife Patricia decided to realize his life long dream of owning a rail road, and with all time in the world in his hands, it was fairly achievable. He spent nearly $34000 to have his own private train that runs on 1.2 miles of track, through the 13 acres of land of his country home. We can be pretty sure the tiny train is not just a dream come true for Bill Barritt and his wife, but also to the couple’s grandchildren.
