It is common knowledge that a honeybee isn’t likely to live long after stinging a human. A honeybee’s sting you see, isn’t quite adapted for attacking humans, as much as it is for attacking other bees. Often the sting will stay stuck in the human body and the bee will get ruptured abdominal tissues that will prove fatal.

The trail of goo you see in the image actually is the abdominal tissue trailing behind. Captured by Kathy Keatley Garvey, the image is probably the only one of its kind and is winning some well deserved awards already.
