No Cutting Corners At The Corner House

Located in a residential/industrial area of Youkaichi, Japan, the Corner House is sharp example of architecture. Built by Kyoto-based architecture firm Eastern Design Office, “On The Corner” house is a seven unit rental complex with a severely triangular shape. It was this shape of the land that put several developers off the idea of constructing something there.

The architects used the unusual shape of the land to create a boat-like look for the building, while also working to give the units the traditional square space. Each unit is comprised of a living room, kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom.
