NaviRobo is a crab shaped robot that loves to sit atop dashboards and point directions to drivers. Not just content with traditional maps, lights or sounds, NaviRobo will point directions with its crabby limbs. Intensity of the motion will depend upon how far the desired turn is; as an example, if the turn is 700 meters away the robot’s movement will be less intense, but pronounced for a turn that’s just 20 meters away. It may cost $100 if commercially released, but iXs and Pioneer intend to refine the technology for a couple more years. Video of the bot in action after the jump.
