Located in Kyoto, Japan, the Villa Saitan by EASTERN Design Office is prepared for grabbing eyeballs and dragging them along. The housing complex has been created to look like a single, huge house. Exteriors of the building has holes that take on rather flattering shapes. They have been created to resemble leaves, roots and clouds.
Entrance to the building is from a root-like opening at the bottom of the leaf-like holes present in the front wall. The word Saitan is made of the words Tan (which is the color of shrine gates) and Sai, (which means a variety of beautiful colors.) Quite interestingly, in the Indian subcontinent and parts of the Middle-East, Saitan means the devil.
