Many water purifiers available in the market boast of UV Purification or something like that. The Aqualris design from designer Talia Radford, does the same thing, only in a portable and rad package. The portable, non-electric system uses the sun for its UV rays to purify the water, a removable and reusable filter houses crystals for purification. The design is intended for the tropics, where the direct sun would make things a lot easier.
